Experience

  • Product Designer Bayer Crop ScienceMarch '22– UX/UI DesignResearchAgileFigmaWireframingHi-Fi

Bayer AG is one of the largest multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in the world. Here, I'm helping drive efforts to build and improve on an internal crop science R&D app suite.

  • Product Designer Jaycox BrandsSep '20–Jul '21 FigmaWireframingHi-FiClickFunnelsLead Generation

Jaycox Brands is an agency that provides B2B marketing infrastructure to mid-cap companies they make joint ventures with. During my time there, I was responsible for designing and building lead gen-focused interfaces.

  • Visual Designer & Web Developer Hot Lava MediaOct '19–Sep '20 Web DesignHi-FiPHPjQueryCSS3HTML5

Hot Lava Media is a small agency focused on building an online presence for other small, local businesses. My role with this company was to build (and sometimes design) websites from PSD files provided by the creative director. It was here that I gained an advanced understanding of content management systems like WordPress and Joomla. I also honed my developer knowledge, frequently writing custom bits of code in PHP, JavaScript, and jQuery.

  • Visual Designer BigPxl (FKA Jumpsix Marketing)Sep '17–Jul '18 Web DesignHTML5CSS3PHP

Jumpsix Marketing was my first "real" professional digital marketing agency experience. Before rebranding to BigPxl, Jumpsix focused on digital marketing efforts for their many clients. It was here that I was fully exposed to content management systems. My role there was important, as I was the only designer on the team with extensive HTML and CSS knowledge. I developed early jQuery skills here as a result of having to bridge the gap between the design team and development team.

  • Lead Production Designer Queen City PressSep '16–Jul '17 Graphic DesignIllustratorPhotoshop

My first full time job after graduating from Missouri State University. Queen City Press was a print shop in Springfield, Missouri (unfortunately, it is no longer around). I brought what I learned from my college courses and time spent as a marketing intern for the Missouri State University Bookstore and taught another employee how to use industry tools on the job. Most of my time was spent designing, printing, and sometimes installing vinyl wraps and decals. Queen City Press also provided "run of the mill" design services like digital and print graphics, logos, business cards, signage, and the like.
